Kesia Qulu

Kesia is the trailblazing founder and director of Connect World TV, a renowned journalist, and media maven with a diploma in Multimedia Journalism from the esteemed College of Media and Publishing in the UK. With over a decade of experience in the media industry, Kesia has established herself as a visionary leader, master strategist, and innovative storyteller.

Under her astute leadership, Connect World TV has forged a landmark partnership with 1KZN TV Channel 261 on DStv and collaborated on high-impact international projects such as “Vaccinate Our World” with TakeNote and AHF, showcasing her exceptional ability to drive meaningful change.

Kesia is also a courageous activist, survivor of rape, and champion of social justice, who has transformed her experiences into a powerful catalyst for change through the multifaceted Courageous Souls community project, including the Survivor’s Chapter. Her unwavering dedication to empowering others has earned her recognition as a beacon of hope and resilience.

In addition to her journalism diploma, Kesia is currently pursuing her LLB degree at the University of South Africa, further solidifying her commitment to creating a lasting impact and leaving an indelible mark on the world.

Our Team

Thami Ncokwane

Thami Ncokwane is a dynamic and versatile individual who has made a lasting impact in various fields. With a Bachelor of Science degree, he has seamlessly navigated the realms of activism, professionalism, and academia. His journey began in 1992 when he joined the South African Students Congress, where he quickly rose to leadership ranks.

Thami’s dedication to community development has led him to collaborate with diverse constituencies, including NEDLAC, and co-convene the youth section at the 2002 World Summit on Sustainable Development. Currently, he serves as the Manager for Political Education and Training at the ANC in Gauteng, sharing his expertise with NGOs, government entities, and private sector organizations through consultancy services.

Notably, Thami has also held the esteemed position of Secretary-General of the Southern African Students Union, further solidifying his reputation as a visionary leader and champion of social change.

Our Team

DR LIHLE QULU -APPIAH

She’s a translational Neuroscience researcher with a specific focus on sexual violence. As a Neuroscience in Leadership coach, she has developed a program centered on building brain agility through 10 key drivers of behavior. Dr. Qulu also serves as the Deputy Secretary General of the Society of Neuroscientists of Africa (SONA). Her current research endeavors involve working with both convicted rapists and victims of rape at Westville prison to better understand the complexities of sexual violence.

In addition to her research and leadership roles, Dr. Qulu is the founder of COBIQ, a brand dedicated to providing transformative leadership solutions. Her expertise has been sought after by prominent organizations, including Tekano, the Africa Health Research Institute (AHRI), MIT (where she has worked as a facilitator), and Duke University, for whom she has taught a neuroscience business masterclass.

As a respected voice in the field of mental health, Dr. Qulu is also a specialist mental health speaker, regularly sharing her insights with audiences on some of South Africa’s most renowned radio stations, including Ukhozi FM, Vuma FM, and Radio 782.

Lindani Mthethwa

Lindani Mthethwa is a journalist with over 4 years of experience covering politics, social justice, sports, and investigative reporting. He has worked with top-tier productions such as Tshwane University of Technology, TUT FM, Commuter FM, and Duncan Productions. Currently, he serves as the Marketing Director at Sir Duncan Eat and Chill, and also works as a Sports Journalist/Reporter for TUT FM. Lindani holds a diploma in Journalism from Tshwane University of Technology.

Andile Gumbi

Andile Gumbi is a driven and visionary entrepreneur in the creative industry, with a strong foundation in TV and film production. He holds a diploma from DUT University, where he honed his skills in producing, directing, scriptwriting, and TV technology. With an impressive portfolio that includes notable projects like the Uzalo TV show, Shoulders of the Giants documentary film, and Courageous Toes United project, Andile has established himself as a creative force to be reckoned with.

As a seasoned professional, Andile has gained valuable experience as a Director of Photography (DOP) in various film productions and has contributed his expertise as a freelancer to esteemed companies like MQ Films, Lunar Films, Stained Glass CCI, Essay Connected World TV, Durban ICC, and Olive Convention Center. His versatility was further showcased during his tenure as a junior video editor for the popular Uzalo drama series on SABC 1.

With a skill set that encompasses data management, camera operation, and vision mixing for both studio and field broadcasts, Andile is a dynamic and accomplished filmmaker. Currently, he is the proud founder and owner of Nyachengos Films, a film production company based in Durban, where he continues to push the boundaries of creative storytelling and bring innovative ideas to life.
